This mid size luxury sport sedan is larger than its competitors and offers more cabin space in a very stylish manner. Cadillac has proved true to its tagline “The standard of the World.”

Cadillac CTS Body Style :

The 2009 Cadillac has a well crafted body which draws looks and attention from the most affluent class of people.  The body is well styled with sharp edges and a chunky appearance on the outside. The new headlights are well placed on the front side which offers an appealing appearance to this modern beauty. The inset fog lamps, two-tone grille, and bumper extensions which are placed below each headlight give it an appealing look.   The body is styled with thick rear pillars and roofline which offers good look to the body but it obstructs the view, and confines backseat space and trunk access.The interiors are also very cheerfully defined with a V shape centre console stack that puts most buttons in the small area in the dash board which makes it easy to see, find and operate. The interiors are well done but they have used different materials, finishes and contrasting design details which breaks the harmony. Overall, the 2009 Cadillac projects a different style on the exteriors and the interiors are attractive but it might not suit everyone’s tastes.

The 2009 Cadillac CTS is equipped with standard features such as an eight way power driver seat, 17 inch wheel, dual zone automatic climate controls, leather seating, a CD/MP3 player with an auxiliary audio jack and satellite radio. There are plenty of additional features which are available and which can be outfitted as per the buyer’s choice like rain sensing wipers, upgraded power/ heated front seats, Bose audio system with a CD changer that also includes a well-designed iPod integration interface, and the advanced navigation system. Overall we found that Cadillac has ample of options to buyers who wish to equip their car using latest technology. Buyer’s can also integrate personal entertainment with leading edge technology.

Cadillac CTS Performance :

The 2009 Cadillac CTS is perfectly comfortable and offers exceptionally good performance. The crisp steering and excellent road feels makes driving an ultimate pleasure. The suspensions are perfect and offers comfort even while traveling at high speeds. The base model is powered by 3.6 liter V6 generating 258 horsepower and 252 pound- feet of torque while the other trim is powered by 3.6-liter direct-injection (DI) V6 generating 304 horsepower and 273 pound  feet of torque.  The six speed manual transmission is standard with the base engine while the DI engine has automatic transmission as standard and the manual as optional. We found that 2009 V6 DI CTS model offered a smooth ride from zero to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds. This model weighs more than the other cars of its own class and hence is slower than competitors with similar power outputs.

We would recommend premium fuel for both the engines but more particularly for the more powerful engine .Both the engines offer virtually the same fuel economy with the base engine offering 18 mpg city limits 26 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined and the DI engine offering 17 mpg city limits, 26 mpg highway and 20 mpg combined. Overall the 2009 Cadillac CTS offers a tough competition to its competitors with an excellent ride and handling balance especially when equipped with the sport-tuned suspension.

Cadillac CTS Quality :

The 2009 Cadillac CTS has the look and feel to give true competition to its rivals.  The engines are well equipped to offer smooth and quite ride. Additional features such as triple door seals assist in reducing noise inside the cabin. The seats did not t qualify to meet the needs of a sports sedan. The front row seats do not offer ample thigh support and the sunroof also marginally reduces the headroom space. Taller drivers would not find it comfortable to drive for longer distances.   The back seats are ergonomically designed with the back rest folding forward which makes space for larger parcels. The tires are perfect to offer a smooth ride as these tires remain firmly planted on the ground. This model is equipped with FE3 suspensions which offer a pleasant drive even on the rough surfaces. The suspensions soak up the bumps and hence the steering wheels do not vibrate which makes the drive never feel harsh. The interiors are made up of high quality upholstery and are better than those usually found in this class.

Cadillac CTS Safety :

The 2009 Cadillac CTS model includes a host of safety features such as antilock disc brakes, stability control, front seat airbags, full length side curtain airbag, and traction control. During the various crash tests that were conducted this model earned four out of five stars for driver protection in head on collisions while the impact for the side-impact protection of front and rear passengers received complete five stars.

Conclusion :
The 2009 Cadillac is a GM vehicle that projects itself as an unique American style statement. The main high lights of this vehicle are that they are available in all wheel drive (AWH), they have roomier cabins in comparison to its competitors, the exterior styling of this model is distinctive, and it offers excellent handling and braking. The main drawbacks that we noted were the interiors are too busy, there is poor rear visibility and the weight also hampers the car performance.
