2010 Hyundai Elantra Very Economical At The Gas Pumps

Hyundai has worked effectively to see the market trend and have concluded that consumers are looking at buying cars which are economical at the gas pumps. Seeing the growing demand for fuel efficient cars Hyundai has made a smart choice on the Elantra sedan and has improved their fuel efficiency.

Hyundai offers base model Elantra Blue after making some technical improvements. Hyundai boasts of improving fuel efficiency by almost eight percent by making engineering changes such as placing lower friction components, smart alternator, revised engine calibration and gear ratios. After working on all these combinations the company is able to provide a fuel mileage of 26mpg city levels, and 35 mpg highway with the standard five speed manual transmission while the older version provides 24/33 mpg city and highway limits.

The engineers have made all the necessary changes without altering the engines power output. All models are equipped with 2.0 liter four cylinder engine which generates 138 horsepower while the PZEV versions make 132 horsepower.  However the company does not plan to apply these changes on the 2010 Hyundai Elantra Touring sport wagon.

The most impressive thing about the 2010 Hyundai Elantra Blue is that they do not involve an additional cost unlike the 2010 Kia Forte. The base Blue edition is priced at $14,145 MSRP. If we compare the prices with other competitors this Blue edition is priced lower than the 2010 Toyota Corolla, 2010 Ford Focus, and 2010 Chevrolet Cobalt.

There are many other companies following suit to produce fuel efficient cars but till they come up with something more innovative, Hyundai is known to be the leader.
