It seems like Porsche and Nissan are working hard to make them selves felt in the industry. Every few weeks automakers are coming out with a new Nurburgring lap time for their new models. Lately Nissan claimed that its 2010 ‘Series II’ GT-R offered a lap time of 7m 26.7s while General Motors immediately remarked within a short time that its Chevrolet Corvette ZR1 super car offered an even better lap time of 7m 22.4 seconds.
Earlier during this month there were reports that Porsche shaved off 10 seconds the Nurburgring lap time for the 2010 911Turbo .They now complete the circuit in 7m 39s. The Porsche New edition 2010 911 GT3 RS claims to offer a more aggressive lap time.
There are many factors that affect the lap time. Porsche claims that their new edition would be faster than the standard GT3 and would complete the 13 mile Nordschliefe circuit in just 7m 33s which is 7 seconds earlier than the standard edition.
Porsche has informed that the 2010 911 GT3 RS will be equipped with 3.8 liter engine which would generate 444 horsepower. The engineers at Porsche have designed the car with more power, less weight and shorter transmission ratios which would help their new edition to perform better on the tracks.
