Nissan Micra the latest hatchback to join the Indian automotive market

Nissan is ready to launch the Micra edition before summer 2010. Nissan has plans to launch seven new models in the Indian market in the next four or five years.  The new edition is named as March in Japan while the Indian edition will be recognized as ‘Micra’. Volkswagen Polo to debut in India

Introduction European automaker Volkswagen plans to launch its hatchback model Polo in India.  The Polo will be available in two versions petrol and Diesel. It is expected that the Polo edition will be priced between 4-5 lakhs and will be available at the VW dealers by March 2010. The VW Polo edition will compete with Maruti Swift, Tata Indica and Hyundai Getz. VW has signed a pact with the Maharashtra Government for manufacturing this edition from the Pune plant. The upcoming Mahindra Renault Sandero review

Renault plans to launch its modern and economical hatchback Sandero in India by end of this year in collaboration with Mahindra. The new Mahindra Renault Sandero edition will be built on the Logan platform and will fall in the small car category as per the norms laid by the government. The new edition will be assembled at the Nasik plant and will be distributed by Mahindra’s existing network of dealers. The upcoming Nissan Ultra Low Car (ULC) to compete with Tata Nano

After Tata introduced the Nano in the Indian market which is priced in the one lakh bracket, there are many other companies following suit to tap the growing small and economical car market in India. To compete against the Nano in the low cost vehicle segment Bajaj has tied up with Nissan- Renault to introduce a new car. Bajaj will hold 50 % stake wile Nissan and Renault will share 25% stake in this venture. It is expected that this new edition would be available in 2011. Nissan Pixo is an upcoming car to enter the Indian automotive market. This new edition will be built in collaboration of Suzuki Motor Corporation, with state of art facilities in Delhi. BMW to introduce the Mini Cooper in India

German automaker BMW is all set to introduce a small car in the Indian market. This new edition will be available in three variants viz. Mini One, Cooper and Cooper S.  It would be full of complete luxury on the exterior as well interior and will be categorized as a premium car. It is speculated that the mini would be priced between 20-25 lakhs. The BMW Mini Cooper will be imported as completely built units.  It is ideally crafted to meet the needs of the Indian roads. Chevrolet Beat Review

General Motors launched its global mini car in the Indian market in the first week of January 2010. This new edition known as the ‘Chevrolet Beat’ would be manufactured at GM India’s Talegaon plant in Maharashtra and would be available in Delhi at a price of Rs. 3.34 lakhs and Rs. 3.94 lakhs. The company has plans to launch their new edition across 150 countries in the forthcoming months.  They also intend to introduce the diesel version of this edition later this year.
