2013 BMW Family Activity Sports Tourer

There are quite a lot of spy shots of new Bavarian automaker’s around, but this set of BMW’s first front wheel drive vehicle in more than 5 decades. It is the BMW Family Activity Sports Tourer and its name is the company’s code for the first vehicle in the lineup of front wheel drive vehicles, it is planning. This Tourer is a premium luxury hatchback, which is designed and engineered to compete with range topping multi purpose vehicles like Volkswagen Touran and Ford C-Max and Mercedes Benz B-Class. It is based on same platform like the upcoming Mini, which will be introduced next year.

The company will designed and develop BMW Family Activity Sports Tourer models in conjunction with Mini. Its front wheel drive layout will provide plenty of boot and interior space as compared to 1 Series and will be offered in diesel and petrol powerplants capable of producing 155 horsepower. It is likely to be unveiled in the year 2013 and will underpin all compact models of Mini as well as BMW. The four-wheel drive system is being engineered with Getrag.
