Been Noticed: 2012 range Rover LRX prototype

The Land Rover LRX concept has won such accolades on the auto show circuit that the company has decided to move it fast into production. There are reports that the company is trying to expedite the whole process to revel it in the production trim by the 17 July 2010. They have chosen this date as it marks the 40th anniversary celebration for the day range rover made its public debut. The LRX edition will be badged as Range Rover and hence it is possible that they have chosen this specific date.
The company plans to start production of this compact SUV in early 2011 and offer it on sale as the 2012 edition.
There is news from sources close to the company which reveal that this new edition will be manufactured in land Rovers Halewood facility in UK which boasts of producing the LR2 and the defunct Jaguar X type.
The spy images depict that the LRX will sport Land Rover LR2’s body panel. The images have camouflaged fronts which are done to hide the new air intake design. It is expected that the new edition will feature shorter wheelbase as revealed by smaller side windows.
There is a tentative confirmation that Land Rover would unveil a hybrid edition along with the regular gasoline and diesel models.
The original LRX concept which made its debut at the 2009 Detroit Auto Show featured a 2.0 liter diesel hybrid powertrain . It is expected that this new edition would sport a similar powertrain which would achieve a fuel economy of 60 mpg when running on bio diesel.
It is expected that this edition would be equipped with carbon fiber body frame to save weight and engine stop and start system to offer better fuel efficiency.

Concept car is going to make people mad and people jealous who were unlucky enough to buy the concept and got a normal version.
There is not much difference in the engine but yeah the looks are magnificent.
