The 2009 model has been revamped with slight changes to offer more alignment with its competitors. Buick not only offers a peppy performance but also a perfect combination of cozy cabin with simple controls and a comfortable ride.

2009 Buick Lacrosse Body style :

The 2009 Buick Lacrosse is a mid size family sedan which is available in three trims CX, CXL and super. The body style of this Buick model is perfectly crafted with a new perky look with a pair of head lights on each side. The lowered stretched oval grille gives a new appealing look to this model. The super model is similarly styled like the CX or CX models, except for a few visual differences like more chrome, bolder grilles and aggressive bumpers were seen in the super model.The interiors of the 2009 Buick Lacrosse are designed to offer a classy look. The centre stack has a matte silver look and the dash board is designed using unique plastic wood which makes the interiors appealing. Overall the interiors had good looks with soft leather upholstery that is used to offer finishes to the interiors but the plastics that is used for the doors, panels and consoles have a low grade appearance and feel. The cabin and the trunks are designed to offer lots of storage bins. Overall the body style suites to the likes of an older audience.

The 2009 Buick Lacrosse includes adequate standard features to amuse the passengers. The standard features that are included are remote start, dual zone automatic air conditioning, XM satellite radio, there are other features which are included as per the trim selected are interior air filters, cruise control tilt/telescoping steering wheel, cloth upholstery, front bucket seats, 6 way power driver seat, center console, power windows, power seat, power door locks, floor mats, automatic headlights, theft deterrent system, and wheel covers. We found that this model does not include few high features such as a navigation system and an auxiliary audio jack which most auto makers add to their list of features.

2009 Buick Lacrosse Performance:

The 2009 Buick Lacrosse performs very well on roads and the super edition is exclusive in all respects. The Buick CX and CXL model comes with a 200 horsepower, 3.8 liter V6 engine which offers brisk takeoffs but lacks passing power. The engine performs adequately well for daily commutes. The Buick super edition model is powered by 300 horsepower 5.3 liter V8 engine. The V8 is equipped with General Motors AFM (active fuel management) which uses lesser fuel as it cuts fuel to four of the eight cylinders when less power is required. These new models are outfitted with four speed transmission which offers a smooth ride but requires a deep stab of the throttle to downshift for passing punch. However there are other competitors of Buick who offer five or six speed transmission which works as a drawback in comparison to its competitors. We found that the base suspension had been upgraded with Bilstein monotube struts but was still not superb, it offered bumps at higher speed. The brakes are also revamped with larger rotors but could not offer the efficiency that one would expect. We found that the fuel efficiency was acceptable at 17 mpg city/28 mpg highway and 21 mpg combined which was offered by the CX and CXL trims while the super edition offered 16 mpg city, 24 mpg highway and 19 mpg on combined roads.

2009 Buick Lacrosse Quality:

The 2009 Buick Lacrosse is perfectly designed to offer smooth ride with lots of cargo space. It offers front bucket seat to comfortably seat five passengers, however for taller passengers they may not be very convenient as they lack rear seat leg room. They are super sized cars and offer enough storage space inside the cabin. The trunk area where things can be stored has low leftover and non intrusive lid hinges with small openings which make it difficult to store bulky goods. The control panels are perfectly laid to offer convenience to the driver. We found that the noise levels were minimal and it was extremely quiet as we traveled down the lanes.The interiors also have a well planned and laid out design. Even though soft leather is used for the interiors the plastics that is used on door panels are of inferior quality and do not provide the fineness and richness that one would expect. Overall we found that the Buick is a quiet sedan car which can seat five passengers in comfort but the quality of the interiors used is not up to the expectation of the consumers.

2009 Buick Lacrosse Safety:

The 2009Buick Lacrosse which is an oversized car, offers all safety features such as anti lock brakes,  dual front airbags, side curtain air bags, antilock four wheel disc brakes, tire pressure monitor, and daytime running lights. The electronic stability control is included in the super model but is available at an additional cost in the CX and CXL models. We found that the visibility was not an issue in this model.There were many test conducted to check the efficiency of the standard features and it scored a five out of five stars for frontal impact protection, four stars for rear side impact protection and only three stars for  front side impact protection.

Buick Lacrosse Conclusion :

Lacrosse is a family sedan that offer quietness and comfort while traveling. The main highlights of this car are that it is quite spacious with extremely quiet interiors and loads of features. The main drawbacks that we noted are this model did not fare well in the front side impact crash test results, some inferior quality interior materials were used, only four speed automatic transmission was available and cramped rear legroom could offer discomfort for taller passengers.
