The Performance trim further adds 20-inch alloy wheels, foglamps, xenon headlamps with washers, a Bose surround-sound audio system with 10 speakers, variable-assist power steering and a hard-drive-based navigation system with a back-up camera.

The range topping Premium Collection brings in tri-zone automatic climate control, keyless entry/ignition, ventilated front seats, rear-seat audio controls, and heated rear outboard seats.

Apart from the base models, there are plenty of optional features available for SRX as well. Though, the base SRX trim doesn’t have any available option, but for the Luxury trim you have the navigation system and surround-sound stereo. You can also get a rear-seat DVD entertainment system on any of the specified SRX with navigation system.

Under The Hood

The power for 2010 Cadillac SRX comes from a standard 3.0-liter V6 engine developed for generating 265 horsepower of maximum power and 223 pound-feet of maximum torque. The engine is mated with a six-speed automatic transmission and it is the only transmission available. The standard drive option for this wheel is front-wheel drive, while you can get all-wheel drive for all the models except for the base.

Powering the all-wheel-drive Premium and Performance trims is a 2.8-liter V6 engine generating 300 hp of maximum power and 295 lb-ft of maximum torque. It also has a six-speed automatic transmission and it’s comparatively more receptive than the base unit.

The estimated EPA fuel economy for the V6 powered SRX is 21 mpg combined for front-drive models, while for all-wheel drive it goes to 19.

Safety Equipments

The 2010 Cadillac SRX gets stability control, antilock disc brakes, side curtain airbags, front seat side airbags and OnStar as its standard safety equipments.

Verdict

The 2010 Cadillac SRX all-new symbolizes economizing for Cadillac’s luxury crossover SUV. The resultant here is a decent, luxury crossover SUV, which is far away from being class-leading.

It is known that 2011 Cadillac CTS- V Coupe will be the show stopper. This new edition will be powered by a supercharged V8 engine which will deliver 556 horsepower and 551 pounds feet of torque similar to the CTS V sedan.

This edition boasts of moving from zero to 60 mph in 3.9 seconds. All auto buffs who can master launching with the six speed automatic or six speed manual  transmission with manual shift mode and paddle controls will be able to sprint in a few tenths of a  seconds lesser then  the original acceleration time.

It is noted that the CTS –V coupe is quite identical to its sedan sibling in major aspects. The only difference that was visibly noticeable is that the coupe’s rear track is wider by an inch than the sedan edition which would offer better handling to this edition. The coupe is also designed to be lighter in weight to offer maximum results.

The 2011 Cadillac CTS-V  is equipped with 19 inch alloy wheels with Michelin Pilot Sport PS2 summer tires and impressive Brembo brakes. They are also engineered with GM’s Magnetic Ride Control which offers a refined ride and handling.

It will also include luxury accessories like Recaro bucket seats with 14 way power adjustments up front, a 40 GB hard drive for music and maps, Bluetooth and USB connectivity and a satellite navigation system with pop up LCD screen.

The company plans to start production by this summer.  This exclusive edition will be stickered at $60,000 tag.

Chris Preuss, GM North America’s new president confirmed on a social network site that XTS concept is the mystery Cadillac. There are many images of this new edition that have already been floated across various websites. The images reveal the influence of Art and Science design on these editions similar to the recent CTS and STS editions as well as the earlier Converj concept cars.

The engineers at Cadillac are busy working out on the replacement for the STS and DTS lines along with a new ATS edition which is a new entry level model car. There are rumors that this concept edition will feature strong lines and oversized grille.

Cadillac is all geared to unveil a high performance 2011 CTS- V coupe which will be designed on the lines of 2011 CTS Coupe which made its debut at the Los Angeles Auto Show held last month. It is expected that the new 2011 CTS-V will be powered by 6.2 liter V8 engine similar to the CTS – V sedan and would generate 556 horsepower and 552 pounds feet of torque. It is expected that Cadillac will start production of this edition in the summer of 2010.

Cadillac is targeting the European section which has a large potential for stylish wagons. To tab this segment the company just needs to build its brand loyalty and encourage its customers to buy their vehicles.

There are reports which mention that these models have not gained much popularity in America. This is one possible reason why renowned companies like BMW and Audi have moved away from the high performance wagon market in the US. There are reports which confirm that the wagon has very poor sales and demand which barely breaks double digit sales each year. Chrysler 300C and Dodges Magnum and SRT-8 have not gained much popularity in the US irrespective of the strong powertrain.

If Cadillac wishes to gain their customer strength it is expected that they would price their wagon at an approximate price of $60,000- $65,000 which is the price of the sedan version. In such an instance they will be able to undercut the Mercedes E63AMG Estate wagon by over 20,000 and which would help them gain more customers.
