General Motors launched its global mini car in the Indian market in the first week of January 2010. This new edition known as the ‘Chevrolet Beat’ would be manufactured at GM India’s Talegaon plant in Maharashtra and would be available in Delhi at a price of Rs. 3.34 lakhs and Rs. 3.94 lakhs. The company has plans to launch their new edition across 150 countries in the forthcoming months. They also intend to introduce the diesel version of this edition later this year.
Silhouette
The Chevy Beat edition is a sporty hatchback car which offers the panache of urban lifestyle. It is equipped with five doors but have a 3 door coupe like appearance .This edition features chrome coated radiator grille and bezel. The headlamps will be crafted in a manner that it will stretch from the front to the back of the hood. The tail lamps are round in shape and have clear polycarbonate lenses while the fog lamps sport two tone colors. The windows and the rooflines offer a sporty look to this edition.
Overall the Chevy Beat has an impressive body style.
Inside the cabin
The interiors of the Chevrolet Beat are quite practical and impressive. The interiors feature comfortable seats with head rests that can be vertically adjusted up to 65 mm. It has been crafted to offer adequate storage space to store basic utilities like mobile phones bottles, etc.
Powertrain
The Chevrolet Beat is powered by a 1.2 liter 4 cylinder engine which would produce 70 bhp. It would be teamed with a five speed manual transmission. This edition is engineered to offer better fuel economy.
Features
The new Chevy Beat will be available in three trims viz. the base PS edition, the mid level LS version and the plush LT trim. The base PS edition will feature power steering, rear folding seats and manual AC. The mid level LS edition will additionally include chrome grille, central locking system and rear parcel tray. The plush LT edition would sport roof rails, tilt steering and rear power windows, auto air conditioning and safety features like antilock brake system and airbags.
