First information: Lamborghini Jota Murcielago replacemen

Lamborghini recently revealed details about their new Reventon roadster. There were images captured by spy cameras of the Lamborghini Murcielago which is believed to be the prototype of the car replacement that is undergoing tests.

Lamborghini is striving hard to gain an edge over its competitors like McLaren, Aston Martin and Ferrari.

There is a galore of news from Europe regarding this upcoming edition. However data gathered from the news and spy images depict that this edition will sport a carbon fiber body shell and the addition of the Audi R8’s aluminum space frame.

The exterior silhouette reveals that it has borrowed styling cues from the recent Estoque concept car and Reventon models.

There are reports that the new edition will feature Murcielago‘s mid engine layout but will be lighter then the original edition, its wheel base will also be of similar length with wider tracks.

It is expected that it will be powered by V12 engine with an addition of direct injection technology which would assist in improving fuel efficiency and power levels across the rev range. The engineers have used this equation to improve performance without having to boost power. This combination would offer a much easier drive to all Lamborghini buffs.

If rough estimates are considered it is assumed that this edition will generate 670 horsepower and 487 pounds feet of torque.

It may be teamed with a dual clutch transmission to assist in delivering power to the four wheels.

If news are to believed this may be the first Lamborghini to sport a hybrid powertrain along with fuel saving engine stop and start and brake energy regeneration technologies.

It is expected that the first green Lambo will be launched by 2015 while the new super car make its debut by 2012.
