First look: 2011 Shelby GT350

The Shelby American team unveiled  the brand new  2011 Shelby GT350 which is designed on the 2011 Ford Mustang GT platform at the opening  gala for the  Barrett Jackson  Collector car auction which was held in Scottsdale.

The new edition is designed to commemorate the 45th anniversary celebration of the original 1965 Shelby GT 350 and first Shelby big block Cobra. The new edition is powered by 5.0 liter V8 engine which is found in the latest Mustang.

The Shelby team has worked hard to design a light, powerful and nimble GT 350 car. The Selby American team have used the base powertrain from the Ford Mustang GT and then worked with experts from Goodyear, Ford Racing, Borla Cragar, and Baer to build a car that offers top speed and a refined handling.

The new edition will feature a new Ford V8 engine which will be teamed to a six speed manual transmission and centrally mounted exhaust. It will also be equipped with a Baer brake system with a 6 piston kit in the front and a 14 inch rotor in the rear. The brake system will also be teamed with cooling ducts at all four corners. To offer a comfortable ride the suspensions are also upgraded with new Ford racing Springs, sway bars, struts, and adjustable caster /cambe plates.

The 2011 Shelby GT350 will receive a new front fascia and rear fascia, front splitter, tail light trim and rear deck lid filler panel. The highlight of this edition are the GT350 badges on the outside and inside which include a Shelby serial number. The functional scoops are situated on the hood and on the side rockers. The A pillar carries oil pressure, fuel pressure and boost gauge.
