Hyundai i30 a new entrant in the Hyundai line up

After receiving an over whelming response for its i10 and i20 the Korean automaker Hyundai is all set to launch its latest C segment  five door hatchback  i30 in India. The i30 is a premium hatch back which is engineered by Hyundai’s European team in Russelsheim, Germany. Hyundai boastfully mentions that ‘I’ stands for Intelligence, Inspiration and Integrity which will be seen in the ‘I’ series cars. They plan to launch a complete series of models ranging from i10- to i50.

The engineers have crafted this edition as the next gen car to cater to the fast growing Indian market.

Body style

The i30 would measure 4,245 mm in length, 1,765 mm in width, and 1,480 mm in height along with a large wheel base of 2650mm. the larger wheelbase would offer a comparatively greater interior space for a vehicle of this size. This edition is designed to be impressively spacious and would offer a total luggage space of 340 liters with rear seats upright.

Powertrain

It is expected that the i30 will be powered by gasoline engine and offer an option of diesel engine which would generate 90-140 horsepower. It would be teamed to an automatic transmission or a five speed all synchro gear box.

The Hyundai i30 will feature 15 inch alloy wheels, front active head rests, front and rear electric window, air conditioning, remote central locking with deadlocks and alarm, front fog lights, heated electric door mirror, ipod USB and Aux input connections, steering wheel mounted audio control, six airbags and electronic stability program (ESP).

Conclusion

Overall the Hyundai i30 seems to be luxurious and much spacious car in the segment. It offers a complete package of comfort, sufficient interior space, refinement, economy and impressive levels of standard equipment. However its exterior looks could have been designed to be more eye catching.
