Many VW fans might be upset over the thought they would never be able to see the VW Scirocco R again but Volkswagen has kept its word and presented the new 2010 Golf R. this edition would feature the same power plant as its successors, however it would add the 4 motion all wheel drive system.
The new Golf R edition would feature a 2.0 liter TSI four cylinder engine which would generate 265 horsepower and a maximum torque of 258 pound feet. It would sprint from zero to 60 mph in 6.5 seconds at a top speed of 155mph. This model is teamed with 6 speed manual transmission and it offers a good fuel mileage of 27.7 mpg.
Body style:
The Volkswagen 2010 Golf R will be styled similar to R32. The LED daytime running lights and tail lights at the rear end offers stylish and modern look. It will feature large alloy wheels and an aggressive front-end treatment and generally reserved styled elsewhere wrapped up in the new Mark VI Golf styling. Despite its official unveiling at the Frankfurt Auto Show, there are very few details that are revealed by the company.
The company has announced that all VW fans can get a glimpse of the Golf R on the streets of Germany by the end of this year while it will adorn the US streets early next year.
