Volkswagen unveiled its Mk VI Golf last year in most parts of the world. The company is now planning to launch its next generation car. There were prototypes that were seen on the streets of Germany. To remain abreast with the times and keep them selves in reign with its competitors VW might have taken the decision to launch the next gen car.

There is news that the company will mark the end of production for Mk VI by December 2011. The new revamped edition will feature a higher powertrain and a smooth performance.

There are rumors that the company is planning to go Green and will carry this theme to the 2012 Volkswagen Golf Mk VII line up also. There are reports that the company might experiment with the possibility of alternating fuels and implement a much broader range of drivetrains.

VW has recently unveiled its new plug in Hybrid powertrain called as the Twin Drive. It is expected that this power rain will feature in the 2012 Volkswagen Golf Mk VII Edition.
