Mini had unveiled their new crossover concept at the Paris Auto Show which was held last year. The production of the same started in a short while. There were numerous prototypes that were seen being tested all over Europe. It was decided that this new version would be debuted during the Frankfurt Auto Show but BMW claims that they have decided to postpone its unveiling till further notice. The company estimates to launch the new crossover edition sometime during the next year.
A Mini spokesman from US confirmed that the company was in a process of exploring the feedback that they would receive from the other mini models. They would accordingly make amendments in their plans before they launch the new crossover model.
Mini has decided to use the Frankfurt Auto Show platform to display new Coupe or Roadster concepts. The company would then decide to start production once they receive a positive response.
The company plans to launch the crossover which would be able to seat 4 passengers but will retain Mini’s Go Kart drive quality. They plan to launch the first edition in front wheel drive only. The BMW Xdrive and all wheel drive model will go on sales only after the initial launch.
The company plans to get ready for the debut during the Geneva Motor Sport that will be held next spring.
