Mitsubishi Colt the new hatchback designed for the Indian market

Mitsubishi is all set to introduce the Colt edition in the Indian automobile market. It is planning to introduce a small car eyeing the potentials of this highly dominated small car segment.

The Mitsubishi Colt has a fairly stylish styling. It will be available in three door and five door models. The interiors are well designed with adequate space for four tall passengers. The trunk is rather small in spite of the fold down rear seats. The interiors will be equipped with simple controls and gauges that are well placed and easy to understand.

Mitsubishi plans to launch the Colt in petrol as well as Diesel editions. It is expected that the engines will be developed by Mercedes. The petrol edition will be equipped by a 1.1 liter engine which would generate 74bhp; it would also offer the option of 1.3 liter petrol engine which would pump out 94bhp. The company plans to introduce the diesel edition which will sport a 1.5 liter engine.

The Colt is easy to drive and there is no interrupting noise that can be heard inside the cabin. Its light steering also enables a refined handling.

The Mitsubishi Colt features CD player and electric front windows while the mid level Colt features steering wheel mounted controls, air conditioner, and all round electric windows.

The Colt is also well equipped with safety features such as twin front airbags, emergency braking system that would flash the hazards at double speed to warn other drivers and stop in case of emergency.

The main highlights of this edition are decent space for four adults, impressive interiors, and good performance. The only drawbacks that can be noted are trunk space is very small, and the standard edition is equipped with very few features.

Overall, This Mitsubishi Colt 2010 which is expected to be priced at five lakhs will succeed in wooing most auto buffs.
