The Mazda MX-5 superlight car which is a real macho car is sure to set fire to all male egos. This model is built by Mazda to celebrate its 20th anniversary.
There were images that were floated before its debut which carried a reflection which showed that the MX-5 has done off with the windshields, the frame and cloth top and made it an comfortable open car with streamlined roll bars for the safety of the passengers. They have done that to keep the weight low and make it a super light model.
It is designed by the company’s in house team in Germany to offer a stylish look. They have made structural changes by changing the A pillars, and the front and rear decks. The interiors have also been designed to give it a sleek of the race car. The seat design and the complete ambience offer a look and impression of a sports car.
This super light car is not very highly powered. It is equipped with a 1.8 liter gasoline engine which generates 125 horsepower and 123 pound feet of torque.
The Mazda when compared to the Lotus Elise S is equipped with a similar power engine but weighs 200 pounds less than this super light model.
The Mazda MX-5 is powered by five speed manual transmission and Bilstein suspensions to offer good comfort and superb performance. This superlight model will accelerate to 62 mph in 8.9 seconds which could have been much better, though it is quite acceptable keeping the weight and comfort in mind. It is also equipped with four piston calipers which adds a feather to the cap and enhances the performance levels.
This stylish car will debut at the 20th anniversary but all auto fans will have to wait till it reaches the dealers. A note for the same will be offered… so keep tuned.
