Rumors Reveal Chrysler To Unveil Its Electric Fiat 500 At The 2010 Detroit Auto Show

It is expected that Chrysler will launch two news cars at the upcoming 2010 Detroit Show however; the company is tightlipped about this demeanor.

It is expected that they may debut the electric version of the Fiat 500 and the Lancia Delta Hatch back in Chrysler’s guise. The company has remained away from any media interviews before the launch as it is likely that either edition would stir discussions.

Automotive fans are eagerly waiting to see what the Fiat – Chrysler union has on offer. Everybody is anxious to know what might be the final output of this inter brand activity. How would the new electric Fiat 500 look? How would it perform? are some of the most common questions posed by any auto buff.

It is expected that the Fiat 500 will be built like the Micro Vett of 2008 which accelerates at a top speed of 60 mph and needs a 6-8 hour recharge time.

There are rumors that the new Fiat edition will perform better than this edition.

It is known that even the company unveils this new edition at the 2010 Detroit Auto Show it will take some time before it will be seen in the streets of US. It is expected that it will reach US only in late 2010 or early 2011. It is projected that this edition will be powered by 1.4 liter turbo four and will generate an impressive 140hp.

It is proposed that the US edition will be assembled in Toluca, Mexico while the 1.4 liter turbo engine will be built in Michigan.  This means that Fiat 500 will not be a European import but a true American at heart.
