Skoda Laura – unmatched power and performance

Skoda has undergone a lot of change over the years, initially they weren’t that appealing on the exteriors and were priced steeply which scared potential customers. However, of late they have undergone change since the Skoda Superb which although didn’t do too well, still paved way for better cars. Things changed a lot after Skoda manufactured cars like Skoda and Superb and the company hasn’t looked back since.

We now have the Laura, the latest car from the stables of Skoda. It has a sedan structure with the attractive headlight being probably the first thing you will notice about the car. The designers have worked hard to make the car look attractive thought the hard work seems limited to the front end. The rear end is a bit boring looking with only the tail lamp changed to some extent.

One of the unique selling point of the car has to be the TSI – Turbo Stratified Injection, a new technology which promises better fuel and power efficiency.

The seat has been redesigned for better comfort and you can now change the height or adjust lumbar. The steering wheel also has adjustment options according to the seat movements. The seats have been made extremely comfortable with the spot on suspension set up and we bet you won’t feel a thing when driving on rough roads.

Talking about the interiors, it is a bit in disappointing with the jute like fabric on the seats. The arm rest on the rear seats doesn’t have cup holders and the audio system too could have been better. Fabia which costs about half as much as this car has better interiors.

On the brighter side, there is a 1.8 litre engine under the bonnet which gives astonishing results. The car has a six speed manual gear box. You get to 7000 rpm when you get one step above the clutch and by the time you reach the third, you will be at 100 kph. This is really great for a car in such a price range. If you are a racing enthusiast you will the Skoda Laura because it has great in-gear acceleration capability which makes it easy to overtake.

The car comes with Goodyear tyres which ensure smooth rides and there are ABS system for brakes that will take care of you when things go out of hand.

Finally, we thought that this car has really changed a lot from the disasters that Skoda delivered initially. The interiors are roomy and quite comfortable though it has room for some improvement. The seats could have been made of leather and the audio system could have been better. Other possible improvements on the car would have to be the exteriors; Skoda could have made this car more attractive looking to turn heads when you drive it around.

When it comes to driving experience it will eclipse any grievances that you may have about the car. It is absolutely smooth and riding this vehicle on the roughest of roads feels like a breeze.
