Sneak Preview: 2010 Acura TL

Acura has now fulfilled their promise of adding manual transmission to its 2010 Acura TL. The new Acura TL will be equipped with a manual gear box instead of the existing sequential Sportshift five gear automatic edition.
The 2010 Acura TL is priced at $35105 for the standard 3.5 liter engine equipped with five speed automatic transmission and $43,385 for the TL-SH-AWD with the option five speed automatic transmissions or the manual six speed transmission.
The manual gear box is robust than its predecessor. Acura has used more rigid aluminum case and heavy duty internals. The manual gear box also features special gear synchronizers to offer better performance. The designers have specifically designed the clutch to suit the torque nature of the Acura TL.
It offers option of 3.5 liter engine which produces 28- horsepower and 254 pound feet of torque and a 3.7 liter engine which generates 305 horsepower and 275 pound feet of torque.
The Acura TL is also equipped with other features like new suspension tunings with stiffer springs and dampers to offer smooth performance along with Hill Start Assist Program. The manual transmission is also equipped with firmer engine and transmission bushings that offer a smooth ride. The manual mode improves weight distribution by generating a 58/42 ratio versus 59/41 ratio thus improving 1% of the weight distribution ratio.
The Acura TL is also fuel efficient and provides a fuel mileage of 16 mpg city levels and 26 mpg highway on the six speed manual transmission equipped with an AWD.
It also offers the option of the technology package which includes navigation and extensive electronic and a 10 speaker audio system. The 2010TL standard trim is also equipped with 18inch aluminum wheels and all season tires. The buyer also has the option of upgrading the wheels and the tires.
