Dec 01, 2009 | Comments 7
It seems like time is flying and is hard to believe that Dodge Viper SRT 10 ACR the street legal track car has completed almost two years. During this phase they have managed to set numerous records at high profile race tracks around the world including the Nurburgring and Laguna Seca circuits.
The 2010 Dodge Viper SRT 10 ACR (American Club Racer) is now being updated to offer a much better performance at the tracks. The engineers have designed the new edition with a shorter fifth gear ratio changing from 0.74 to 0.80 to offer enhanced high speed acceleration, and higher straightway speeds. The engineers have made the necessary changes as a result of their experience at the Nurburgring, where they found that a higher gear ratio would result in a higher speed capability and thereby complete the run in a shorter duration.

The updated edition will also be equipped with a new short throw shifter to offer better performance and enhanced driver experience. The engineers have made further updates in the rear wing profile and end plates to optimize the vehicle aerodynamics and also improve the rear yaw downforce. After making these changes the engineers experienced an increase in top speed of 4mph moving to 184 mph.
The engineers have not made any visible changes in the powertrain. This edition is equipped with 8.4 liters engine which would pump out 600 horsepower and 560 pounds feet of torque. This would enable the sports car to sprint from zero to 60 mph in less than 4 seconds, a quarter mile in 11 seconds and a 0-100-0 mph in flat 11 seconds.
The 2010 Dodge Viper SRT 10 ACR is all set to make its debut at the 2009 Los Angeles Auto Show.
For more updates on this new edition, keep tuned and our team will keep you updated.
Till then Happy Motoring!

This car has completed its 2 years?? That’s strange, seriously time is flying soon..the other day I was enjoying my evening watching thr race and just came across this article!
After having such a powerful car, the engineers are trying to make it more accurate and powerful…this is what I call always innovative and different from the world to find perfection.
as lion is the king of the jungle, the same thing is with Dodge at street racing! “KING”
This article proves what efforts the engineers take to increase the capability of the car. It increases only 4mph after so many changes, but that difference wins the world!
This article has given all credits to the engineers, which I think is the best part because whenever the vehicle is a big success all the credit goes to the heads of various departments but no one cares that the real efforts are done by some one else.
Very well said in the above comment. I appreciated the way this article is written with the facts to improve the performance of the car.
Viper! This is the beast reaching 100mph in less than 10 seconds with the power of 400bhp, a classic model by Chrysler!!! Best till date I should say.
