Sneak Preview: 2010 GMC Terrain

The 2010 GMC Terrain priced at MSRP: $24,250 – $31,000 is a huge family car. This edition shares the components of the Chevrolet Equinox under the hood but does not have smooth lines like its opponent. The test drives vehicles were generally clad in deep red color but personally we feel that the black and white model is more appealing to the eye.

The GMC Terrain is equipped with six speed automatic transmission and direct injection and offers a choice of various powertrains to choose from viz. front wheel drive or All wheel drive and four or six cylinder engines. They also offer various trims which are equipped with features depending upon the trim you choose. The base model which is priced at $24,250 is quite impressive and offers good handling with features identical to the equinox.

The 2010 GMC Terrain when teamed with V6 engine and a towing package can haul around 3500 pounds while the standard four cylinder engine is good for up to 1500 pounds which means it can haul some bicycles, tools or small power sports equipment easily.

Honda CRV, Ford Edge and Nissan Murano are the main competitors for the Terrain edition. However to compete with these unmatched players GMC has equipped the Terrain with 17 inch alloy wheels, USB input, ambient lighting, rear view mirror with integrated rear vision camera. The next edition would include 18 inch wheels, heated leather seats, sunroof, rear park assist etc. The premium edition would additionally include 19 inch ally wheels with wheel cover.
The Terrain offers a fuel mileage of 21mpg city levels and 32 mpg highway. It offers better mileage when operated under ‘eco’ mode.

The Terrain offer high comfort to the passengers even on the rear seat. The sliding seat allows five full size adults to seat comfortably with ease. The sliding seats also offer good cargo storage space.

Overall this GMC model offers good combination of utility and luxury features with efficient powertrain  which offers a good drive.
