The Dutch supercar company Spykers has overcome all odds in spite of the management reshuffles and financial set backs for the last one year and has decided to launch several new models in the coming years. They have already launched the long wheelbase C8 Aileron, and we have already seen the preview of the upcoming C8 Aileron Spyder. They are about to introduces a new SSUV i.e. Super Sport Utility Vehicle in the form of the production version of 2006’s D12 Peking-to-Paris concept car.
During an investor conference that was held last years Spykers then president Victor Muller had confirmed that the production version of the D12 would be launched in 2009. The latest reports reveal that the company has decided to make its world debut at the next months Frankfurt Auto Show.
The company has plans to focus on East European markets as well as emerging markets like China and Middle East for the sale of its new D12. The buyers in these markets have been demanding performance vehicle with off road capabilities as majority of the roads in these markets are often in poor conditions and it is nearly impossible to navigate with low slung super cars. The X6 and Aston Martin Lagonda Concept have been popular in these areas due to its off road capability.
There is very little information that is out about the new SSUV but it has guessed that the designers have decided to change the originally planned power plant from a VW sourced 6.0 liter W12 engine to LS line of V-8 as it is expected that the company wishes to change the name to Spyker D8.
