The first mild uplift came in 2007 to promote the car sales figures after the vehicle made its debut in 2005’s New York Auto Show.  The first update witnessed an addition of the cheaper rear wheel drive model as well as a more flexible seven seater model. There were no major cosmetic and mechanical changes experienced by this edition.

However for the second update it is expected that Mercedes Benz will receive a few physical amendments such as a new front end and a revised rear end with refurbished interiors. It is expected that the updated edition will be launched in the second half of the year.

The images reveal that the revamped edition will feature angular headlights and a larger prominent grille. The rear end will sport minor changes with a redesigned bumper, exhaust tip and LED tail lamps.

This updated 2011 Mercedes Benz R class will make its world debut at the 2010 Geneva Motor Show in March.

The spy cameras have also captured images of prototypes of a brand new SL class. The exterior looks similar to the current edition, however on a closer look it reveals that it is a prototype of the next gen SL which is due in 2012.

This new edition has been designed picking up styling cues from the previous SLK prototypes as well as the SLS AMG and even the next gen CLS. The tail light design looks quite familiar and borrowed from the earlier editions.

There are many differences when the current SL and this latest prototype edition is compared. The new edition will sport a wider stance and sit lower in comparison to the other models.

The interiors reveal a boxier design but it is too early to contemplate on its finer details. It is expected that this edition will be designed using light weight aluminum to offer better handling, performance, ride and good fuel economy.

The new edition will be powered by V6 and V8 engine and will be teamed with the SLS AMG’s seven speed dual clutch transmission. It is expected that the 2013 Mercedes Benz SL will share its components like suspensions, drivetrain and electric system with the Mercedes Benz SLS AMG.

There is a speculation that Mercedes is planning to go green with this edition and might consider unveiling a hybrid technology edition.

The 2011 Mercedes Benz E class Cabriolet is the latest to join the Mercedes stream after the Coupe, sedan and high performing E63 AMG. This new edition is dressed in complete luxury and appeal. The exquisite detailing around the lights, its muscular haunches, and chiseled surfaces   makes it one of the best looking vehicles that could be seen in the Detroit Auto Show.

Its exterior silhouette features soft roof top which can be opened and closed fully automatically quickly within 20 seconds. This edition measures 185 inches in length 70.3 inches in width n and 55.2 inches in width.

This luxury car will be powered by 3.5 liter V6 engine which will generate 268 horsepower and 258 pounds feet of torque. The E550 edition will be powered by 5.5liter V8 engine which would generate 382 horsepower and 391 pounds feet of torque.

It will be equipped with an array of safety features such as seven airbags, active headrests, adaptive headlights, belt tensioners and belt force limiters, and a rollover bar behind the rear seat back rest that eject by pyrotechnic means if triggered.

The 2011 Mercedes Benz E class cabriolet will be seen at the showroom windows in the second quarter of this year.

It is expected that the standard edition will also be power packed with 3.0 liter V6 engine which would generate 300-350 horsepower. The AMG edition would be equipped with 3.6 liter V8 twin turbo engine which would generate 470 horsepower. The next gen SLK 55 AMG would feature a revised version of 5.5 liter V8 engine which would produce 422 horsepower. For an entry level SLK in the Europe it would be equipped with 2.2 liter four cylinder turbo diesel engine.

It is expected that the company may market the US region also but the powertrain for the US is not yet finalized.

To offer good comfort and handling the engineers have planned to introduce a weight saving regime for the new edition. They plan to reduce at least 200 pounds of the cars curb weight. The designers have used themes for the interiors which are borrowed from the SLS AMG Super car.

Mercedes has yet to disclose finer details about this product.

The 159 Sedan

The four door 150 Sedan will be the first Alfa Romeo car to make its presence in the US. Its unique Italian Silhouette with a perfect blend of superior quality would offer a tough competition to the present American and European models.

The 159 will be equipped with 3.2 liter direct injection V6 engine which would produce 260 horsepower.  It would be equipped with standard all wheel drive to compete with other Luxury auto makers in the US. The most exciting part about the 159 sedan is that it is a true luxury car with a base price of $34,000. This would make other luxury car makers like BMW, Mercedes Benz, and Audi on their toes.

The Brera Coupe

The Brera has already made its name in the European segment. It is a top notch sport hatch back car with a sleek, yet classy styling, and 2 by 2 seating layout. The Brera is a well known crowd pleasing car. Like other Alfa models the Brera features its iconic triangular front grille and unmistakable headlamps which add to the front look of this Italian beauty.

This sport-hatch will be equipped with a similar powertrain like the 159 sedan. It will feature a 3.2 liter direct injection V6 engine which would generate 260hp. It will also feature all wheel drive system. The beauty of all Alfa Romeo editions including Brera is that they are equipped with stiff but efficient suspensions which offer a comfortable ride. This luxury car would reach the US shore by 2010 and will be available at a base price of $36,000.

The Spider

The Spider convertible is the most stylish and desired car amongst other Alfa Romeo models. The Alfa Romeo Spider will offer two powertrain options.

It will be equipped with fuel efficient  2.2 liter four cylinder engine in the  base edition  and would offer option of 3.2 liter  V6  edition from 159 Sedan edition. This two door version is expected to be smaller and lighter than the 159 Sedan and the Spider.  The light weight body would offer better acceleration and handling.

The new Audi A1 will cater to the likes of upmarket compact cars viz. the Mini Cooper. The new Audi edition will be available in various different variants just like Mini.

Audi has plans to launch the A1 in the regular three door and five door hatchback models in the initial phase. They would later move towards designing a classy convertible and a compact MPV.

The latest images that were captured reveal the shape of the grille and LED detailing in the headlights. It is expected that this edition would be equipped with a range of 1.2 liter to 1.6 liter in displacement and would generate an approximate output of 200 horsepower. There are rumors that Audi will unveil a hybrid edition also at the earliest.

Audi CEO, Rupert Stadler has confirmed on many occasions that the company plans to augment its brands line up to 40 models by 2015 and also enhance its production facilities. To make their plans into a reality, Audi has already invested € 200 million in its Brussels plant to start production of the new A1 range. With all the new technology that has been used it will now be able to produce an approximate 120,000 units annually.

To increase its sales and make them self known in the premium car segment, they have decided to launch A1 in America also.  With its launch in America it would offer tough competition to Mercedes Benz and BMW.

Mercedes is now ready to launch a new edition of the car and it prototypes were seen being test driven on the streets of Germany. Mercedes has plans to launch the new edition by the end of 2010 and will be introduced as the 2011 model. Mercedes is all set to launch its second four door coupe which will be based on the next gen small car platform. This new edition is expected to target the premium market segment in line with the some of its more premium rivals.

The test mules which were seen show wider tracks and extended wheel arches. Insiders have revealed that the new model will borrow its platform from the S Class sedan.

It is expected that it would include both V6 and V8 engines along with the high performance AMG model. There are rumors that Mercedes is working upon adding a new shooting brake variant to the new edition to offer maximum performance.

We will have to wait till Mercedes officially announces the finer details about their venture… till then keep tuned.

The company has been tight lipped about their debut but it is presumed that this version will make its debut around late 2011as a 2012 model. There are speculations whether the new model will feature a folding roof top or will be of the soft variant like the SLR roadster. The SLS AMG hard top would weigh around 3571 pounds while the roadster variant would weigh an approximate 3800 pounds. The heavy weight could be a hindrance in the performance for the hard roof type variant.

This new edition will feature a 6.2 liter V8 engine which would generate 571 horsepower and 479 pound feet of torque. It would also be equipped with a seven speed dual clutch transmission mounted on the rear axle.

The new edition which would be one of the most exciting offerings of the next couple of years would be priced at an approximate $257,332 for the Gullwing coupe in Germany while the roadster edition would be slightly priced with a higher tag.

The company also plans to launch an electric car in the next couple of years; however there is not much official details that have been disclosed by the company.

The Benz S class will feature a 3.5 liter V6 engine and a 15 kw electric motor which would generate 275 horsepower. The standard version would also be equipped with 7 speed automatic transmission. The S400 cannot run solely on electric power; however it provides a good gas mileage at 19 miles per gallon at city levels and 24 mpg on highway.

The most impressive thing about this edition is that it is equipped with lithium ion cells battery which holds twice the energy in comparison to the nickel metal hydride batteries. The S400 has gained accolades for this feature. The designers at Mercedes have also well placed these batteries in the same space that hold the standard batteries. Mercedes needs to lauded for the extremely beautiful and intelligent body style which encompasses most features.

The S version does not have the hybrid tag embossed on its trunk and offers similar performance like the non hybrid versions available in Europe. The hybrid version sprints from zero to 60 mph in 7.2 seconds. The S400 brand has been designed to operate on 5 stroke cycle. They are designed in such a way that the valve stimulates the cycle in which the piston moves through strokes of different lengths, extracting more energy from the fuel than a conventional engine.
This Mercedes Benz is priced at $87,950  and is value for money.

It is expected that the company would launch the Lagonda sedan l in 2012 along side the next gen Maybach. It is assumed that it would feature a hybrid powertrain and borrow a W222 platform from the Mercedes S class. It would also feature high tech pre scan suspension technology. As it is built on the lines of the S class, which has already proven its track record, would make this model easily a winner.

Mercedes will use a similar hybrid system which was recently unveiled in the S400 Hybrid , a reworked version of the Maybach’s twin-turbocharged 6.0-litre V12 engine.

It has been mutually accepted that the design and body style will be done by the engineers of Aston Martin while the mechanical aspects will be looked after by Mercedes Benz.
