Sneak Preview: 2010 Volkswagen GTI

Volkswagen is all set to launch the 2010 Volkswagen GTI which is based on the earlier Golf model.  The 2010 GTI will be priced at $23,290 for its base edition. This would offer a tough competition to MINI Cooper, Honda Civic Si and Mazda speed3. Volkswagen All Set To Revamp The Tiguan Edition

The automobile segment is swarming with news from all automakers about the facelift that they plan to undergo on their current editions. Volkswagen has also decided to offer a facelift to the Tiguan edition. VW Tiguan has been in production for a little over two years but the company has plans to upgrade this compact SUV. Volkswagen Plans To Launch The Next Gen Beetle

Volkswagen introduced its New Beetle over a decade back and the company has not made any significant changes in this edition but still this edition continues to enjoy strong sales. has proudly announced that they have sold more than one million Beetle cars. The company now plans to follow suit of other companies and launch their new gen car. The company proposes to debut this new car by late 2012 or early 2013. Volkswagen unveiled its Mk VI Golf last year in most parts of the world. The company is now planning to launch its next generation car. There were prototypes that were seen on the streets of Germany. To remain abreast with the times and keep them selves in reign with its competitors VW might have taken the decision to launch the next gen car. VW L1: A Hybrid Two Seater Car

Volkswagen has unveiled its two seater car at the recent Frankfurt Auto Show. This L1 a radical 170 mpg two seater car will be available in  the market for sale by 2013 .The officials at VW have announced that they would start production of their new model in the next year  and would probably limit their production. The company has plans to market these vehicles in Europe and Asia only. This small vehicle is not targeted for the US markets. Porsche Panamera To Share Its Platform With Other Volkswagen Brands

Earlier renowned automaker Porsche had no intentions of sharing its platform with its competitors but the company’s integration into the Volkswagen group has seen that decision reverse. The Panamera is reported to be shared with the others in the VW group while the Cayenne is shared to VW as Touareg. As for the Panmaera it will not be replaced till it dies in 2017. It is difficult to gauge which brand would benefit from the Porsche engineered sedan platform. 2010 VW Passat Blue Motion – The New Generation Fuel Economy Car

These days when everybody is feeling the pinch at the gas pumps, automakers are also working at making fuel economy cars. Highlights Of 2011 VW Polo

Volkswagen had confirmed last year that it would start selling the Polo in the year 2011 in the US.  This five door hatchback model was unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show held earlier this year. There were questions that were raised as to how much the US bound Polo would be altered from its German counterpart. A VW spokesman confirmed that the car would not have any major difference to the original version except the place of production would be changed. The company plans to assemble this edition in the Mexican Plant to keep the cost at the lower end. Auto Union – The New Group Formed By The Merger Of VW And Porsche

There have been rumor from late July when Porsche announced that the company’s CEO Wendelin Wiedking would be resigning his position and would be replaced by Michael Macht to lay foundation of a joint business under VW leadership. The news have been confirmed by two VW supervisory Board members that Volkswagen and Porsche have broadly agreed to sign a deal and to have a joint business The combined entity would be led by VW CEO Martin Winterkorn and would be recognized under the brand name “Auto Union”.  It has been decided to offer a new name to this merger to make it clear that it is not only VW who will be running the whole show.
