Unveiling The New 2010 Saab 9-5 Sedan



The Saab 9-5 sedan was expected to makes its debut last year but due to limited resources at Saab and the introduction of the face lifted 9-3 the release of 9-5 was pushed back. The Saab 9-5 is now ready to debut at the next months Frankfurt Auto Show.

However there are many sites which have leaked the images of this sedan online. The images show a clear blend of its past design traits combined with modern and sleek profile. If rumors are to believed this new version will have its first public outing during the most renowned Frankfurt Auto Show but the Saab Design Chief Simon Padian will officially unveil this model in less than seven days.

To offer a premium look and performance the Saab engineers would stretch the cars wheelbase to 9.3 feet in comparison to 5.5 inches on the current model. The overall length will be stretched to over 16 feet.  This new model will offer options which include a range of four cylinder petrol and turbo diesel units including bio fuel model. There is a speculation that the AWD model will be equipped with a petrol 3.6 liter turbo charged V6 engine which would generate 350 horsepower. Options of other engine would include 2.0 liter or 2.6 liter V6 engine. It is expected that the company would also launch petrol- electric hybrid model. This new version will also be equipped with stiffer suspension set up, a new steering rack and premium range of electronics.  The Saab 9-5 will be built at Opel’s Ruesselsheim plant in Germany and the company proposes to start its production in the middle of the year.

It was earlier announced that Saab’s sale by General Motors to Swedish super car maker Koenigsegg has not dampened the spirit of the company.
