Unveiling The New 2011 Volkswagen Touareg

The current version of Volkswagen Touareg which was launched in 2003 did not gather much popularity because of some flaws. This current version lacks the seven seater capability and has a higher price tag attached to it in comparison to its competitors from the same segment. The second generation model of Volkswagen Touareg which will be launched in late 2010 and will be recognized as a 2011 model will address to most to the issues which are facmodel of Volkswagen Touareged by the current version. The 2011 VW version is expected to be a little smaller than the current model but will comfortably seat seven passengers and will also feature a range of more fuel efficient engines. They are likely to introduce the new hybrid variant also.
The next level Volkswagen is expected to share its competition with the next generation Porsche Cayenne and Audi Q7. The new model is expected to be lighter as the company proposes to use aluminum to keep the weight at bay. It will be more stylish and sportier than the current model. It has been presumed that this new model will offer new gasoline – electric hybrid version as there were stickers marked “Switch off the main power” which were seen during the spy shots.
The new 2011 VW Touareg will be equipped with a 3.2 liter V6 engine which will generate 280 horsepower. The premium model would be equipped with 4.2 liter gasoline V8 engine which would generate 345 hp. A pair of diesel engines 2.7 liter and 3.0 liter turbo diesels will also be on offer. All the engines will be equipped with six speed automatic gearbox. It is likely that VW may also offer the new 7 speed DSG engine.
Porsche may offer tough competition to the new VW version as they are planning a hybrid version of the Cayenne SUV next year which would feature hybrid system with 3.0 liter V6 engine which would generate 333 hp and would be teamed with 52 hp electric motor.
